TJ Strydom is an author and business journalist who has worked for The Times, Reuters, Sunday Times and Beeld. He is interested in business success stories and his first biography, Christo Wiese: Risk & Riches, was published in 2019. Here Strydom interweaves a biography with the origin story of Pep and Shoprite, as well as the collapse of Steinhoff International. This is followed by Koos Bekker’s Billions in 2022, in which he examines M-Net’s impact and Naspers’ astonishing growth. Strydom grew up in Pietermaritzburg and studied at Stellenbosch University. He is married and lives in Johannesburg.
