Andrea Florens is a graduate from the University of Natal and worked for many years as a copywriter in one of Durban's top advertising agencies. The series was born when Andrea saw a gap in the market for African fables which would appeal to a young audience, from the age of two to nine years old. Having written a number of non-fiction books for Art Publishers, Andrea approached them with the idea of the series. She had seen the delightful animated illustrations of Claire Norden who works for the company, and knew that Claire would be the perfect person for the job. The 'experiment' worked and the Art African Fable series has been a wonderful success story!
