      The Read Write Inc. Phonics Red Word Cards help children read non-decodable words. They include over 75 common words with a low-frequency grapheme, for example 'said', 'some' and 'your'. One side of the card includes a circle around the tricky grapheme to help children identify the tricky part of the word. The other side of the card shows the word on its own to help children gain fluency when reading the words independently. Read Write Inc. She has many years experience as a head teacher, teacher trainer and consultant in phonics and literacy, working with primary and secondary schools throughout the UK. Ruth has been an adviser to the government on many aspects of literacy teaching since 1997. Her work has been featured both by Newsnight on BBC1 and Dispatches on Channel 4. Ruth was awarded an OBE for services to Education in 2011.
