Steven L. Spiegel, Professor of Political Science at UCLA and Director of the Center for Middle East Development there, specializes in the analysis of world politics, American foreign policy, and American foreign policy in the Middle East. In addition to World Politics in a New Era, he is co-author (with Daniel C. Kurtzer, Scott B. Lasensky, William B. Quandt, and Shibley Z. Telhami) of The Peace Puzzle: America's Quest for Arab-Israeli Peace from 1989-2011,published in 2013 by Cornell University Press.Elizabeth G. Matthews is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at California State University San Marcos. Dr. Matthews lectures and writes on American foreign policy, international negotiations, the Middle East peace process, U.S.-Russian relations, and human rights including genocide and crimes against humanity.Jennifer M.
