Robert Setter is an analyst, consultant and writer. He left UBC's faculty of science at age nineteen to work for a multinational retailer before completing a degree in economics a few years later. After a short stint as a federal investigator left him disillusioned with government inefficiencies, he embarked on a twenty-year career in education, eventually reaching director for a private college before pivoting to consulting and writing full time. This lead to several director positions with companies exploring the metals used in electric-vehicle batteries, which in turn led to a search for new ways to reduce emissions. The book, Decycle, introduces a new practical solution that will reduce carbon emissions and save money for taxpayers. He currently resides on the east coast of Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia.
