Organic Chemistry Tasks with Exemplary Solutions

This book - a collection of solved problems in Organic Chemistry - is dedicated to people interested in chemistry. The aim of the book is to offer exemplary solutions to problems, in which it is shown that in addition to a full and complete representation of the chemical properties of substances by means of chemical equations, a commentary on the processes involved is also necessary.Problems with appropriate solutions can be the basis for a good training in chemistry, for national competitions, for national and international chemistry Olympiads, but also for gaining in-depth knowledge necessary for the successful performance during the study of Organic Chemistry, as well as medicine at the university, and then in professional careers.I hope that the proposed exemplary solutions will be a useful and interesting tool for developing skills and will facilitate the preparation of young people for successful competitive performances.

Ilia Manolov is a dipl. chemist at the Faculty of Chemistry, "St. Kliment Ohridski" University of Sofia, Bulgaria. He earned his PhD thesis (1986) at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University of Sofia. His PhD thesis was connected to the synthesis and antitumor activity of β,β'-dichlorodiethylaminoethyl esters of carboxylic acids. Later, his research was focused on studies about the synthesis, structure investigations and pharmacological activity of 4-hydroxycoumarin derivatives. This work was summarized in a D. Sci. thesis. At the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Sofia, he was an Associated Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry and later at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In 2021, Cambridge Scholars Publishing published his book on the topic of 4-hydroxycoumarins, followed by Processes and Apparatus in Chemical-pharmaceutical Technology: Synthesis of Medicinal Products in 2022. In 2023, his book Fundamentals of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry was published, while his book Inorganic Chemistry Tasks with Exemplary Solutions was published in 2024.
