Elizabeth Atkins-Hood developed her skills in mosaics and découpage whilst living inthe United States. Joy Bell worked as a commercial artist and galleryowner, before opening an antiques store which provided much source material formany of her wonderful creations. Both authors were inspired to develop their unique and interesting style after being introduced to aunique glass and tile saw developed by Jesse Cogwell. They are both based inAuckland, New Zealand, but regularly attend the Society of American MosaicArtists convention to enjoy the company of other mosaic fanatics.
