Finding of Freddie Perkins

Freddie Perkins has lost a lot. His mum, for a start. His friends and his home, now he's been dragged up to Scotland to live with his granny. And even his dad - because even though Dad's still there, he and Freddie can't seem to talk any more. But something is watching Freddie. Something very rare and very special. Something that finds things that are lost. Freddie has lost a lot, but he's about to discover how much there is out there to find...

Unusual and thought-provoking., An exciting and page-turning read which will keep the reader guessing until the last page., Magical and heart-warming, In her debut novel, Liz Baddaley addresses this issue (loss) with beautiful sensitivity and remarkable empathy...gradually and credibly introduces a strand of realism to the narrative., As well as dealing with death and bereavement which could be gloomy and Gothic, there is an amusing, mystery element which draws the reader in and makes this book...eminently suitable for reading aloud.

Liz Baddaley lives a life surrounded by words, whether they're for the children's novels she has begun to create, or for the leading UK charities she writes for. Liz was born in St Albans and read English at Christ Church, Oxford, but is now most likely to be found tapping away at her laptop with a pot of tea, or exploring Ilkley's famous moor - singing along to her iPod and desperately trying to keep up with Rabbit the dog.
