For too long now the world of South African football and the world of books have been kept apart. Yet, it seems it is only the rugby and cricket players that are given such esteem. Born and raised in Johannesburg, Nikolaos Kirkinis studied at Stellenbosch University, where he obtained an honours degree in international studies. Since then, Kirkinis has worked as a freelance writer for the biggest sports publication in Africa – Soccer Laduma.
