First Snow

A snuggly celebration of a child's first snowfall and winner of the 2020 Stratford-Salariya Picture Book Prize! Two curious fox cubs scamper out from their den and set out on an adventure to discover what 'snow' is. Along the way, they encounter a cast of charming winter woodland creatures preparing for the cold, including wise old owls, hopping frogs, hibernating hedgehogs and busy bees. The two little foxes can't wait to jump, play and snuggle up when the snow comes, but they must first make it home to Mother Fox before the chill sets in!Jo Surman's cosy words and atmospheric winter scenes capture the wonder of a child's first snowfall in all its beauty, from the coldness of two little noses to the excitement of playing with friends. This snuggly, seasonal celebration of the natural world is filled with hope, kidness and warmth. Families will love sharing this classic-feeling Christmas story for years to come!
