African journeys

In this collection of essays from Getaway magazine the author takes us on a series of journeys across the African continent, following first of all in the footsteps of David Livingstone. His zest for travel carries him on North: to the old Stone Town of Zanzibar; to the astounding valleys and the rock-carved churches of Ethiopia; and on to the glories of the pyramids in Egypt. Back home in South Africa, he takes us hiking over the mountains, motorcycling along the 29th parallel, and pedalling through the Knysna forest.
