Clemens Cap ist Professor für Informations- und Kommunikationsdienste an der Universität Rostock. Nach dem Studium der Mathematik, Informatik und Physik habilitierte er sich in Informatik. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind verteilte Systeme, Systemsicherheit, Internet-Anwendungen und soziale Probleme der Informatik.
