She holds a Doctor of Education specializing in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Arts in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, Mona. Dr. Burris-Melville has taught courses in academic writing, linguistics, and leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Boasting nearly a decade of experience shaping minds in academic institutions, her pedagogical journey began with a rigorous teaching diploma from the esteemed Shortwood Teachers' College in Kingston. Further enriching her expertise, Ms. Burris pursued and attained her bachelor's and master's degrees in linguistics at the renowned University of the West Indies, Mona. Currently, she is pursuing doctoral knowledge in Leadership and Organizational Intelligence at Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville. Ms. Burris's scholarly contributions extend beyond the classroom, evidenced by her peer-reviewed publications on themes of collaborative learning and academic writing. Her research pursuits encapsulate adult education, emotional intelligence, team dynamics, followership, leadership, academic literacy, online pedagogy, and applied linguistics.
