Adoption of a Pro-US Foreign Policy by Spain and the United Kingdom
The alliance between Prime Ministers José Maria Aznar and Tony Blair represented a crucial moment in recent European and World politics, owing to the divisive nature of their support for the United States in the wake of the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. The extent of their collaboration, combined with their interventionist approach to tackling global threats, reflected an unprecedented level of cooperation between Spain and the United Kingdom. This book sets out to explain Aznar and Blair's foreign policy and how they came to support the United States. Understanding their relationship is imperative to explaining divisions over European reform, intervention, tackling rogue states, the response to 9/11, and the war on terrorism. This critical period in world politics has been subject to significant academic analysis, but the motivations behind the adoption of a pro-US foreign policy by Aznar and Blair have hitherto not been examined from a comparative perspective. Analysis uncovers factors that have either been overlooked or understated in terms of their influence throughout the Aznar-Blair relationship, particularly regarding their alliance in the European Union before September 2001. This compelling comparative study is invaluable to explaining how two leaders from different political backgrounds and traditions became such close allies, and how they came to support US foreign policy despite the pressures of deep divisions within the EU political bloc. Maritime Claims and Underwater Archaeology
To what extent can underwater archaeology and underwater cultural heritage support a State’s maritime claim? Many States have plausibly extended their maritime legislative and executive jurisdiction to the outer limit of the contiguous zone to better protect underwater cultural heritage. However, some States—such as Canada in the Arctic, China in the South China Sea, or Russia in Crimea—are going further, claiming sovereignty over disputed maritime areas or even the high seas. Maritime Claims and Underwater Archaeology, aimed at internationalists and archaeologists, critically assesses these recent practices, reviewing this search for buried sovereignty from a legal, historical, and ethical perspective.

Econometric Model Selection
This book proposes a new methodology for the selection of one (model) from among a set of alternative econometric models. Let us recall that a model is an abstract representation of reality which brings out what is relevant to a particular economic issue. An econometric model is also an analytical characterization of the joint probability distribution of some random variables of interest, which yields some information on how the actual economy works. This information will be useful only if it is accurate and precise; that is, the information must be far from ambiguous and close to what we observe in the real world Thus, model selection should be performed on the basis of statistics which summarize the degree of accuracy and precision of each model. A model is accurate if it predicts right; it is precise if it produces tight confidence intervals. A first general approach to model selection includes those procedures based on both characteristics, precision and accuracy. A particularly interesting example of this approach is that of Hildebrand, Laing and Rosenthal (1980). See also Hendry and Richard (1982). A second general approach includes those procedures that use only one of the two dimensions to discriminate among models. In general, most of the tests we are going to examine correspond to this category.

Sensitive Stance in the Production of Creative Ideas
Creative thinking is a technique that is used in invention, innovation, problem solving, and generating new product concepts, services, and organizations. We all are familiar with the practice of brainstorming, which brings into play speed, quantity, and sustained rhythm. It is the emblematic technique of one of the creative stances: the "dynamic" stance. But there is also a second creative stance: it is less known, involves going at a slow pace, searching out the vagueness of intuitive moments, and turning inward to the imagination. We refer to it as the "sensitive" stance. But what exactly is the sensitive stance? How is it integrated into the production of creative ideas and, more notably, into Creative Problem Solving (CPS)? These are the questions we will strive to answer in this book, where we will introduce and explore the mechanisms of the creative sensitive detour and its accompanying creative breaths: departure towards the imagination, the emergence of ideas, and sensitive convergence.
