Use and Abuse of Unjust Enrichment
The Law of Restitution is now firmly established as a distinct branch of the law of obligations. Yet for much of the past 25 years its status has been the subject of debate both in the courts and in academia and there are those who still regard it with suspicion. This is therefore an appropriate time to publish the collected essays of a scholar who has made a significant contribution to the study of restitution and who has established a distinctive position on manyof its most keenly disputed controversies. For this collection the author has chosen a number of previously published and influential papers which he has selectively revised and updated, together with a number of completely new papers which present his latest views on a range of issues central tothe law of restitution.

Beats
Kerouac. Ginsberg. Burroughs. These are the most famous names of the Beat Generation, but in fact they were only the front line of a much more wide-ranging literary and cultural movement. This critical history takes readers through key works by these authors, but also radiates out to discuss dozens more writers and their works, showing how they all contributed to one of the most far-reaching literary movements of the post-World War II era. Moving from the early 1940s to the late 1960s, this book explores key aesthetic and thematic innovations of the Beat writers, the pervasiveness of the Beatnik caricature, the role of the counterculture in the post-war era, the involvement of women in the Beat project, and the changing face of Beat political engagement during the Vietnam War era.

Cambridge Companion to the Beats
The Cambridge Companion to the Beats offers an in-depth overview of one of the most innovative and popular literary periods in America, the Beat era. The Beats were a literary and cultural phenomenon originating in New York City in the 1940s that reached worldwide significance. Although its most well-known figures are Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, and William S. Burroughs, the Beat movement radiates out to encompass a rich diversity of figures and texts that merit further study. Consummate innovators, the Beats had a profound effect not only on the direction of American literature, but also on models of socio-political critique that would become more widespread in the 1960s and beyond. Bringing together the most influential Beat scholars writing today, this Companion provides a comprehensive exploration of the Beat movement, asking critical questions about its associated figures and arguing for their importance to postwar American letters.

New Directions in European Public Law
This collection of essays arises from two symposia held by the University of Cambridge's Centre for Public Law and Centre for European Legal Studies in the winter and spring of 1997. It presents an analysis of a cluster of issues arising in the EU public law arena but naturally falls into two interrelated but distinct parts. The first part deals with issues of liability in public law and the availability of remedies in EC and domestic law. The second part deals with EU public law on a broader canvas,by examining the phenomenon of cross-fertilization among national legal systems in Europe and between national systems and EU law. The book also examines the judgment of the Divisional Court of 31 July 1997 in R v. Secretary of State for Transport ex parte Factortame Ltd and the post-Francovich judgments in Palmisani, Maso and Bonifaci delivered by the Court of Justice on 10 July 1997. Contributors: John Allison, Jack Beatson, John Bell, Paul Craig, Piet Eeckhout, Ivan Hare, Mark Hoskins, Peter Oliver, Eivind Smith, Luisa Torchia, Takis Tridimas, Walter van Gerven.

Beats
This volume addresses integrating into the classroom Beat authors, texts, and themesassociated with Beat writing, generally dated from the early 1950s to 1964-65, when the major social justice movements in the United States began to tear apart the fabric of post war containment culture and Hippie counterculture became a dominant movement. The book provides a robust foundation for discussions of the continued relevance of Beat literature in educational settings. The volume’s 22 essays are divided into six domains: 1) Foundational Issues, 2) Beat Literary Genres, 3) Beat Literary Topics, 4) Beat Lineages and Legacies, 5) Selected Resources, and 6) Sample Assignments. The volume presents a blending of authors and subject matters representative of current styles and methods of Beat scholarship. Literature-focused pedagogies dominate, but course materials and perspectives relative to history, composition theory and practice, religious studies, art history, film studies, and other cross-curricular courses are also represented. The sequencing of each part is hierarchical only in the sense that Part 1 is intended to be read first, since topics in that section speak to key practices and traditions undergirding Beat history and the teaching of Beat writing in general. The volume concludes with sample classroom assignments and examination prompts by Beat scholars.

Photon Correlation and Light Beating Spectroscopy
This volume contains the invited lectures and seminars and abstracts of the contributed seminars presented at the NATO Advanced Study Institute on Photon Correlation and Light Beating Spectroscopy held at the Centro Caprense Di Vita E Di Studi Ignazio Cerio , Capri, Italy, July 16-27, 1973. The Institute was organized to provide a com~rehen8ive presentation of this new and rapidly developing field for those interested in applying these techniques to problems in many areas including Physics, Biology, Engineering and Chemistry. The lectures were divided into three principal categories: the first Basic Theory (Photon Statistics and Correlation, Scattering Theory), secondly Instrumentation (Correlation Techniques, Light Beating), and the third Areas of Application (Gas and Liquid Dynamics, Critical Phenomena, Biology). The seminars provided detailed presentations of applications to a number of specific problems.* Although the selection of topics was inevitably li mi ted, i t was the hope of the organizing committee that the lectures would provide a broad coverage appropriate for the needs of the interdisciplinary audience represented by the participants, and that this volume would serve for some years to come as a useful introduction for those entering the field. The members of the Organizing Committee were: E.R. Pike, RRE, Malvern U.K. } Co-directors H.Z. Cummins, New York University M. Bertolotti, Universita di Roma - LocalOrganizer J.M. Vaughan, RRE, Malvern, U.K. Secretary H. Swinney, New York University Treasurer P. Lallemand, Ecole Normale Superieure, Paris H. Haken, Universitat Stuttgart, Germany.
