Out of Control
Every parent wants the golden key to raising well-behaved, academically gifted, successful, happy children. Embedded in the collective psyche is the notion that discipline is the cornerstone to achieving these goals. Out of Control offers a never-before-published perspective on why the entire premise of discipline is flawed. Dr. Shefali Tsabary reveals how discipline is a major cause of generations of dysfunction. The author goes to the heart of the problems parents have with children, challenging society's dependence on discipline, daring readers to let go of fear-based ideologies and replace them with an approach that draws parent and child together. The key is ongoing meaningful connection between parent and child, free from threats, deprivation, punishment, and timeouts -- all forms of manipulation. Parents learn how to enter into deep communion with their children, understanding the reasons for a behavior and how to bring out the best in the child. Far from a laissez-faire, anything goes, approach, this is how a child learns responsibility and takes ownership of their life, equipped with character and resilience that flow naturally from within.

SBAs and EMQs in Paediatrics for Medical Students
'Dr Sharma has definitely mastered the art of producing a comprehensive, evidence-based review tool of core paediatric knowledge whilst at the same time appealing to a broad audience, which in my opinion is quite a remarkable achievement. You're definitely looking at an invaluable resource and buying this book will help you to rise up to the challenge that is the complexity of paediatrics.' - Tiago Villanueva in his Foreword. Undergraduate medical students often struggle with at least some of the specialty elements of their studies. Some face a further challenge with the advent of the Medical Schools Council Assessment Alliance (MSC-AA, formerly known as UMAP), with a move away from testing specific clinical facts to an assessment focused on preparing to be a foundation doctor and the knowledge such a trainee needs on a daily basis. Neel Sharma has written three self-assessment books - on psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, and paediatrics - designed to help students tackle both the new form of assessment as well as the traditional style of examination. Questions covering all common presentations are included in SBA and EMQ formats with relevant, concise explanations as answers.

How autoimmune diseases affect fertility, and how to best prepare patients with these diseases for pregnancy, is also addressed.Unfortunately the current literature does not provide effective guidelines. Sexual Life of English
In The Sexual Life of English, Shefali Chandra examines how English became an Indian language. She rejects the idea that English was fully formed before its life in India or that it was imposed from without. Rather, by drawing attention to sexuality and power, Chandra argues that the English language was produced through conflicts over caste, religion, and class. Sentiments and experiences of desire, respectability, conjugality, status, consumption, and fashion came together to create the Indian history of English. The language was shaped by the sexual experiences of Indians and by native attempts to discipline the normative sexual subject. Focusing on the years between 1850 and 1930, Chandra scrutinizes the English-education project as Indians gained the power to direct it themselves. She delves into the history of schools, the composition of the student bodies, and disagreements about curricula; the way that English-educated subjects wrote about English; and debates in English and Marathi popular culture. Chandra shows how concerns over linguistic change were popularly voiced in a sexual idiom, how English and the vernacular were separated through the vocabulary of sexual difference, and how the demand for matrimony naturalized the social location of the English language.
