Frederick Colantonio 54 Years in the Media
This inspirational biography reveals the persecution of Fred Colantonio as a child, boy and man. The reason for his trials was being small in stature. His earliest memories of school were taunts, bruises and bullies. Fred stood four feet seven inches tall and weighed 75 pounds upon entering St. Benedict's High School. His first day in high school a nun asked him, "Why are you here. You should be in grade school." Fred replied, "Sister, I've had ten years of grade school. I've had more than enough to last a lifetime." When he could no longer contend with the high school bullies, he sought help from Sister Superior Mary Patricuis. Because of her grace and understanding he escaped further persecution, when she warned the bullies there would be consequences if they persisted in bullying Fred. In adulthood, Fred turned his life around by utilizing a positive mental attitude at work and in his relationships.

Fred Colantonio to Harry J. Joyce
Colantonio has created a book composed of his interviews, impressions and recollections with professional ballplayers, managers, media people, an author, business owners and regular folks. He found not everyone is willing to give even the slightest information about themselves for personal reasons and for reasons dictated by the management they work for. With others he found them to be co-operative and warm. Once again he shares his personal interactions with people who have lorded their positions over him and others. Colantonio has been scrupulous in his dealings with people and has expected the same consideration in return. It has not always been the case. Throughout his life, he has always sought out the truth and demanded justice. His insights in the realm of personal relationships has been from a unique perspective due to bias from relatives and co-workers. He shares these moments with the reader bluntly and earnestly.

Colantonio Files
The people I've met in my life were the impetus for writing this book. They are the good, bad and ugly people. Those I remember the most are those who were good to me and helped me along the way to become a professional broadcaster and newspaper journalist. Others were not kind and often said aloud that I would fail at achieving my goals. One relative went so far as to ask "Why can't you hold a job?" He knew nothing of how unstable the job market was at the time for the jobs I held. It did not deter me; it fueled my desire to succeed. I knew what I wanted out of life and that is what I am currently doing. Sadly many who were unkind to me were unwilling to help people in need. Coffins don't have pockets was a phrase my parents often used. My mother said to me that she had two words of wisdom for me. They were not 'thank you those two words were BE NICE. It is the legacy I want to leave behind.

Colantonio to You
I have learned and worked at a total of 41 jobs. I had 12 full time jobs and 29 part-time jobs. Presently, about six companies I Worked for are still in existence. All the other companies have folded, merged or been bought out. In life, it's sometimes hard putting two plus two together to discover the character of a person. I often wondered how a person got to be so negative and deceiving.

Frederick III
Many German historians regard Emperor Frederick III (1831-1888) as a liberal sovereign who could have saved German history from its tragic course. Recent historians, however, have challenged the long-held view that liberalism's failure in 19th century Germany presaged Hitler's triumph, claiming that earlier scholars have overlooked liberalism's positive contributions to German history. This book reassesses Frederick III's contribution to the liberal movement. Using documents recently made available from the Hessische Hausstiftung, the author considers the question of whether Frederick abetted the liberal movement's successes or was part of its tragic history. As crown prince, Frederick maintained ties with prominent liberals and rejected Otto von Bismarck's conservative domestic and foreign policies. His liberal impulses were strengthened by his marriage to the Queen of England's daughter, Princess Victoria. But when Frederick came to the throne in 1888, he died after only 99 days. Many historians consider his untimely death the swan song of German liberalism. Kollander finds that the documents show Frederick to be a constitutional liberal who fought to preserve the constitution-the basis of liberal political power-from subversion by the conservatives. However, he only condoned liberal reform on the basis of the constitutional status quo, rejecting his wife's wish to see British political institutions adopted in Germany. Although Frederick contributed to the survival of liberalism as a political force, the author concludes, the extent of his liberal views have been exaggerated by many historians.
