In Dialogue with Michèle Le Doeuff
The work of Michèle Le Dœuff creatively disrupts established notions of what philosophy might be. Far from being a discipline about the leader and the disciple, a hierarchy of knowledge and paternalism, Le Dœuff proposes a philosophy of dialogue and friendship. The conversations in this book explore how this philosophy can be enacted and explored, and show how openness and generosity can be the starting point of truly rigorous thinking. Introduced and curated by the late philosopher, Pamela Sue Anderson, In Dialogue with Michèle Le Dœuff explores themes like contemporary feminism, joy in philosophy, memory, the significance of friendship to thinking and a key Le Dœuffian concept, the imaginary. Le Dœuff's interlocutors, including Penelope Deutscher, Elizabeth Fallaize and Meenda Dhanda, are some of the most significant thinkers in the fields of feminism and continental thought and provide insights and ways into considering philosophy as a profoundly dialogical exercise.

Jean-Michel Basquiat: Engadin
An exploration of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s connection with Switzerland and the Engadin region, and its influence on his trailblazing work. Though most often associated with New York, Jean-Michel Basquiat had a strong connection to Switzerland, which began in 1982 with his first exhibition at Galerie Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich. Throughout the 1980s, he returned several times, travelling to St. Moritz and the Engadin region. This new book examines the artist’s relationship with the country and is published on the occasion of the exhibition 'Basquiat Engadin' at Hauser & Wirth St. Moritz. It was in Switzerland that Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Francesco Clemente began to work on their collaborations, marking a significant turning point in Basquiat’s artistic practice. Featuring an essay by curator Dr. Dieter Buchhart, this publication documents a unique body of work that captures the artist’s impressions of the Swiss Alpine landscape and culture through the lens of his iconic visual language.

Dialogues with Michelangelo
The Dialogues by Portuguese painter and writer Francisco de Holanda give unprecedented insight into the opinions, preoccupations and character of Michelangelo, already in his lifetime the most celebrated and influential artist in Europe. These Dialogues record his participation in the discussions about art hosted by Vittoria Colonna, his closest friend. Michelangelo’s opinions and ambitions during the period when he was painting The Last Judgement come vividly to life, as does the world in which he moved. No other text brings us so close to Michelangelo the artist, poet and thinker. The Dialogues are presented here in the classic translation by Charles Holroyd, painter, engraver, art historian and director of the National Gallery. The introduction by David Hemsoll situates the Dialogues in the context of Michelangelo’s career and the artistic world in Rome. Sixteen pages of illustrations include some of Michelangelo’s finest drawings, and views of the Rome he knew.
