Jethro Tull's Thick As a Brick and a Passion Play
Since the 1960s, British progressive rock band Jethro Tull has pushed the technical and compositional boundaries of rock music by infusing its musical output with traditions drawn from classical, folk, jazz, and world music. The release of Thick as a Brick (1972) and A Passion Play (1973) won the group legions of new followers and topped the Billboard charts in the United States, among the most unusual albums ever to do so. Tim Smolko explores the large-scale form, expansive instrumentation, and complex arrangements that characterize these two albums, each composed of one continuous song. Featuring insights from Ian Anderson and in-depth musical analysis, Smolko discusses the band's influence on popular culture and why many consider Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play to be two of the greatest concept albums in rock history.

Atomic Tunes
What is the soundtrack for a nuclear war? During the Cold War, over 500 songs were written about nuclear weapons, fear of the Soviet Union, civil defense, bomb shelters, McCarthyism, uranium mining, the space race, espionage, the Berlin Wall, and glasnost. This music uncovers aspects of these world-changing events that documentaries and history books cannot. In Atomic Tunes, Tim and Joanna Smolko explore everything from the serious to the comical, the morbid to the crude, showing the widespread concern among musicians coping with the effect of communism on American society and the threat of a nuclear conflict of global proportions. Atomic Tunes presents a musical history of the Cold War, analyzing the songs that capture the fear of those who lived under the shadow of Stalin, Sputnik, mushroom clouds, and missiles.

MOVE
Developed by Tim Lewko, a 25-year strategy veteran, MOVE shows leaders how to embed artificial intelligence directly into the strategy process and validate strategic bets, pressure-test assumptions, and adapt faster than the competition – all while maintaining control over final decisions. Traditional strategy frameworks cannot keep up with trade wars, supply chain disruptions, and shifting consumer behaviour, and leaders can no longer afford to wait for annual planning cycles or lengthy strategy retreats. MOVE responds to this rapid change by simplifying strategy into a clear, repeatable system of five essential tools — all powered by AI to accelerate decision-making and execution. It’s a practical, leadership-owned operating system that aligns strategic assumptions, project prioritisation, and quarterly execution cycles. Through examples, this book reveals how AI can power real-time data analysis, surface critical indicators that signal when a strategic bet is veering off-course, and show when emerging threats require immediate attention. In a rapidly changing world, MOVE is a key tool for senior executives, business leaders, board members, CEOs, Presidents, and P&L owners to regain control across the entire execution cycle.

Forgotten Genius of Physics, a work on Marian Smoluchowski
The Forgotten Genius of Physics, a work on Marian Smoluchowski is a popular science book aimed at introducing the outstanding physicist and philosopher to a wider audience. It contains many biographical elements, using memoir materials that describe Smoluchowski as a teacher, scientist, mountaineer and family man, which were published in large numbers after the physicist’s unexpected death. In the last years of his life, Smoluchowski devoted much attention to the problem of randomness. His research laid the foundation for a new branch of mathematics - statistical physics. He is considered the creator of the discipline dealing with the application of probability theory to research in physics. Ironically, one could say that Smoluchowski’s death was a coincidence. During a trip to the Ojców region, he bathed in the small Pra˛tnica river. On the same day, sewage was released into the river from an Austrian army camp upstream, causing bacteriological contamination. This led to a severe attack of dysentery and prematurely ended the scientist’s life.

Future People
What do we owe to our descendants? How do we balance their needs against our own? Tim Mulgan develops a new theory of our obligations to future generations, based on a new rule-consequentialist account of the morality of individual reproduction. He argues that the resulting theory accounts for a wide range of independently plausible intuitions - covering individual morality, intergenerational justice, and international justice. In particular, the moderateconsequentialist approach is superior to its two main rivals in this area - person-affecting theories and traditional consequentialism. The former fall foul of Parfit's Non-Identity Problem, while the latter are invariably implausibly demanding. Mulgan also claims that most puzzles in contemporary value theory(such as Parfit's Repugnant Conclusion) are actually puzzles in the theory of right action, and can only be solved if we abandon strict consequentialism for a more moderate alternative. The heart of the book is the first systematic exploration of the rule-consequentialist account of the morality of individual reproduction. Mulgan demostrates that this account is superior to all available alternatives, both consequentialist and non-consequentialist. Once we recognise the intergenerational dimension, moral and political philosophy cannot be considered in isolation. The latter must be founded on the former. Rule consequentialism provides the best foundation for a theory ofintergenerational justice.Future People brings together several different contemporary philosophical discussions: obligations to future generations, the morality of individual reproduction, the demands of morality, and international justice. While the focus is on developing a new account, there are also substantial discussions of alternative views, especially contract-based accounts of intergenerational justice and competing forms of consequentialism.

Eyes to See – Recognizing God`s Common Grace in an Unsettled World
When we encounter human suffering or personal tragedy, Christians and non-Christians alike utter the same refrain: Where is God? If God exists, then where in the world is he? Why doesn’t he show himself? And how can we tell if God is really working or not?Tim Muehlhoff gives us insight into recognizing how God is at work in the world. He unpacks the doctrine of common grace to uncover how God works in ways that we don't always realize. If we have a limited idea of what divine action looks like—dramatic answers to prayer, healings with no medical explanation, financial needs being met unexpectedly—then we miss seeing how God acts through common grace in ordinary, everyday ways such as antibiotics, financial planners, and thoughtful friends. Muehlhoff offers dozens of illustrations from contemporary culture to help us understand and communicate how God is present and acting in the world today.Discover how God cares for our troubled world as he gives you the eyes to see.

Killer Crossover
Considered one of the best point guards of his generation, Tim Hardaway was a polarizing figure on the basketball court. Known for his distinguished college career at UTEP, Hardaway was selected in the first round of the 1989 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors. He soon became a household name.In Killer Crossover, Hardaway shares stories from his tough upbringing in Chicago through his collegiate career and to the NBA. As a part of "Run TMC" (with fellow Warriors Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin), he immediately established himself as one of the top players on the hardwood. Joining the Miami Heat in 1996, and along with teammates Alonzo Mourning, Dan Majerle, and Jamal Mashburn (to name a few), he would become a main protagonist in one of the most contentious rivalries in all of basketball against the New York Knicks. A master trash talker and one of the best ball handlers, Hardaway shares what it was like playing basketball in the nineties against some of the greatest to ever play the game, including future Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Patrick Ewing, and Reggie Miller. Never shy to speak his mind, "Tim Bug" pulls back the curtain on the blood, sweat, and tears that went into becoming one of the most feared guards in the game and a future Hall of Famer. But with the good comes the bad, as Hardaway opens up about his hurtful and anti-gay comments in 2007, and how a single radio interview turned his life upside-down. Though knocked down and painted as a hateful person, he adapted his "crossover" mentality to humbling himself and learning from his mistakes. Doing so, he became a proponent for the LGBTQ+ community, working closely with The Trevor Project and The YES Institute, as well as being the symbolic first signer of a petition to overturn "Florida Amendment 2," allowing same-sex marriage in the state of Florida.Killer Crossover is not just a basketball biography. It is the story of a man who worked his way from humble beginnings to becoming an All-Star at the highest level—not to mention a father to a future NBA standout—as well as all the trials and tribulations that come along with being one of the best in the game.

Fall Out
The unmissable inside story of the most dramatic general election campaign in modern history and Theresa May’s battle for a Brexit deal, the greatest challenge for a prime minister since the Second World War. By the bestselling author of All Out War, shortlisted for the Orwell Prize 2017. This is the unmissable inside story of the most dramatic general election campaign in modern history and Theresa May’s battle for a Brexit deal – the greatest challenge for a prime minister since the Second World War. Fall Out tells of how a leader famed for her caution battled her bitterly divided cabinet at home while facing duplicitous Brussels bureaucrats abroad. Of how she then took the biggest gamble of her career to strengthen her position – and promptly blew it. It is also a tale of treachery where – in the hour of her greatest weakness – one by one, May’s colleagues began to plot against her. Inside this book you will find all the strategy, comedy, tragedy and farce of modern politics – where principle, passion and vaulting ambition collide in the corridors of power. It chronicles a civil war at the heart of the Conservative Party and a Labour Party back from the dead, led by Jeremy Corbyn, who defied the experts and the critics on his own side to mount an unlikely tilt at the top job. With access to all the key players, Tim Shipman has written a political history that reads like a thriller, exploring how and why the EU referendum result pitched Britain into a year of political mayhem.
