A new classic series that goes beyond simple storytelling. Stories of the Saints keeps the profound lessons of courage and compassion taught by holy figures alive, in an engaging and accessible format. This book is all about Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, Italy, and poor people. Born into a rich family in the 12th century, Francis felt an innate need to help people. This eventually led him to reject his affluence and live a life of poverty and service to God. Saint Francis is also known and beloved for his spiritual connection to animals. And, did you know that Saint Francis made the first ever nativity scene? Each book in Stories of the Saints retells the classic life stories of a different saint, sharing their miraculous deeds in an engaging and accessible way. The stunning illustrations will capture and enthrall young minds whilst teaching important values and virtues.
