Sidney and his mum live a busy life in a busy city. Dinner time is announced by the PING of the microwave, comes out of piping-hot boxes, and is eaten off knees. The closest Sidney ever comes to a vegetable is the mushroom on his pizza . . . and he usually picks that off. But when Sidney goes to visit Granny in the countryside, eating his greens suddenly gets a whole lot more interesting! A beautifully illustrated book about the joys of growing (and eating!) your own food.

Esther Hall graduated with an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from the University of Central Lancashire. In 2008 she was highly commended in the Macmillan Prize for Children's Picture Book Illustration and in the following year Esther was selected for the Illustrators Exhibition at the Bologna Book Fair. Taking design inspiration from 1950's film posters, book illustrations and toys, Esther uses lino-cut and screen-printing techniques to create her artwork. She lives in Lancashire with her husband and two children.
