The wildly popular 7de Laan, SABC2's long running soapie, is ten years old this year and has 1,9 million viewers. Now seven of the beloved characters share the specialities they have become known for. The 75 recipes - all thoroughly tested - cover the entire spectrum. Now anyone can cook with Die Laan! There are, of course, Hilda's famous 'concoctions' - but don't let the term mislead you: her innovative recipes are among the most delicious in the book. The date fingers, shortbread and pork neck with prunes and apple juice will have many asking for more. Matrone offers more traditional dishes such as milk tart, chicken pie, pumpkin fritters and a General De la Rey cake with dried figs and pecan nuts.
