On a stretch of rolling grassland in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, Iain Buchan and his wife, Carol, visualised a timeless Eden that would echo the grand gardens they had seen on their travels. With the aid of landscape architect, Tim Steyn, an audacious, magical garden has been rendered from the fertile Midlands soil. It boasts formal parterres, a grotto, magnificent sculptures, water features, pathways and 16 beehives that are works of art.

Brahman Hills caught the attention of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), which selected it as a Partner Garden in 2023. It then went on to win the RHS Regional Winner award for that year. Brahman Hills: The Making of a World-class Garden showcases the vision, expertise and sheer hard work that created this amazing place.
