Great recipes, of course, but also a wealth of modern kitchen wisdom. Practical, straight-talking, endlessly inspirational - this is Ruby at her best., Cook As You Are is not simply a recipe book, but a warm invitation to relax into and enjoy the experience of cooking and eating. Ruby Tandoh offers understanding, encouragement, and completely glorious food., I genuinely think Cook As You Are is one of the best, most interesting cookbooks I've seen in a long time. I couldn't put it down. I love the illustrations, the notes about realistic seasonality and that Ruby credits properly and gives a proper platform to cuisines that don't always get a lot of exposure., Ruby Tandoh is another food writer - like Nigel and Jamie - who wants to enable readers, though she doesn't just want to empower you to cook, she also wants you to value the kind of cook you are and the food you want to make ... a sane, generous and wise book., A cookbook designed for real people: using up ingredients you can pick up on the way home, meals that give nourishment and comfort at the end of a tricky day and packed with insider ideas and ways to make your kitchen entirely your own; the most thoughtful of gifts
Ruby Tandoh is a food writer who has written for, among others, New Yorker, Guardian, Taste, Vittles and Vice. A finalist on the 2013 Great British Bake Off, she has published Eat Up, a book about the pleasure of eating, as well as two cookery books, Crumb and Flavour. When she's not cooking or writing, she watches reality TV and listens to podcasts about maligned women from the 90s.

It was a beautiful read. Enthralling and utterly devastating at times. I found some of the cameos a bit overly done, but the depth of character from the new names and faces were absolutely beautiful. My love and respect for Haymitch Abernathy started in the first book, trippled in the subsequent trilogy releases and has more than magnified in this prequel. I also have a new love in Miss Maysilee Donner, who made me smile as much as she made me cry in the end. Spectacular work, Ms Collins.
