      Fanie Viljoen is one of the most loved and diverse writers in Afrikaans children’s and YA literature. He has won numerous of ATKV Children’s Book Awards and an M.E.R. prize. His novels Betower and Afkop were both runners-up in LAPA’s competition for teenage literature and he won the 2019 competition with Offers vir die vlieë. This book also received an ATKV Children’s Book Award (2019) and was awarded the Scheepers prize for Youth Literature (2022).
