?Librarians Lincove (Ohio State University) and Treadway (University of Virginia) have compiled a collection of 1,953 titles, published between 1945 and 1985 but covering Anglo-American relations from their formal inception in 1783 through their finest hour in 1945. The scope note and table of contents are exceptional guides to the contents of the book. The bibliography is divided into two broad areas; nondiplomatic relations (624 entries) and diplomatic relations (529 entries). The section on nondiplomatic relations includes titles on social and cultural relationships and on economic conflict and cooperation but excludes titles in law, literary criticism, and music. Books, articles, and British and American dissertations are also included. With exception of the dissertations, all titles listed were examined by the compilers. Each entry is annotated; only secondary works are included--i.e., no texts of treaties or protocols, no correspondence or archival material.
