This book mainly addresses the background and multiple aspects of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and their latest smart-sensing applications in developing several environmental applications. It covers the pace and productivity at a uniform level in each chapter with respect to its audience, from doctoral student to postdoctoral researcher or from postdoctoral researcher to multidisciplinary field researcher with a background in physics, chemistry, material science, environmental science and engineering, who has already worked with MOFs and their applications in recent years. Broadly, the authors have addressed the investigations related to biosensing of biomolecules using their photo-luminescent feature, biosensing of agrochemicals, chemicosensing of explosives using luminescent features of MOFs, MOFs-based chemicosensing of inorganic cationic and anionic pollutants and of organic and toxic pollutants for waste-water treatment, MOFs as environmental sensors beyond waste water treatment, MOFs as electrochemical, photoelectrochemical and electronic sensors and MOFs-based Surface-enhanced Raman scattering platforms.
