This book collects the op-eds, essays and other opinion pieces on gender, sexuality, masculinity and politics written by the author from 1974-2024. Individually, they hold issues such as political events, school shootings, debates about the new fatherhood, the 'boy crisis' and sports controversies up to a gender lens, to reveal the 'gender' aspects of those events. Together they chronicle the ongoing debates about gender and masculinity over the last half-century. Bringing empirical research to bear on these current events, and bringing the urgency of the moment to academic research, the book bridges the worlds of activists and academics, serving as a model of an engaged researcher and a public intellectual.
