Singh sustains tension throughout, delivering a lushly written, multilayered mystery that will keep readers guessing. Susan Isaacs fans, take note., Full of twists, turns, and genuine emotion, Quiet in Her Bones cements Singh's place in the modern pantheon of suspense., Singh perfectly conveys the sleek architecture amid an unforgiving New Zealand forest...an unsettling thriller that deserves a wide audience., Nervy and unsettling noir [with] a legitimately and believably unreliable narrator., Popular romance author Singh shifts to a new genre, New Zealand gothic, in which nearly every character -- including the dense, ferocious landscape -- has something to hide, and studying them is nearly as fascinating and compelling as solving the multifaceted mystery. Astute, insightful, and descriptive storytelling; a strong step in a new direction for Singh
Nalini Singh was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. She spent three years living and working in Japan, and travelling around Asia before returning to New Zealand now - although she's always plotting new trips. She has worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher, not necessarily in that order. Some people might call that inconsistency, but she calls it grist for the writer's mill. You can learn more by visiting www.nalinisingh.com or by following @NaliniSingh on twitter.
