Modern Blood Tracking

Professional tracking hunter Torkel Norling has spent years interviewing some of the world's best trackers--those who stand out simply because they solve more cases than anyone else. Most are hunter trackers, but some are police and military. In this book, these trackers share a few smart and surprisingly simple methods and traits that make a big difference in the final outcome. Written for both professionals and beginners, this work covers such topics as exercises for teaching the dog to never lose a trail and to endure extremely long tracks; exercises to increase the chances for a released dog to find the right animal (the injured one); the best way to adapt training to your specific dog, regardless of breed; tactics and equipment for making you, your tracking partner and your dogs a more effective double team; and more.

Torkel Norling is a professional tracker and author who lives and works in Sweden. He develops methods for dog work, trials and tracking wounded game, collaborating with the Swedish Hunters' Association, the Swedish Kennel Club and the police. He has recently completed a widely noted project in which, through interviews and research, he set out to discover what makes certain tracking hunters from around the world solve significantly more cases than others.
